Large 12 megapixel 2/3-inch X-Trans CMOS II™, newly developed F1.8 4x optical zoom, EXR Processor II, Lens Modulation Optimiser and the world’s fastest AF speed¹
The new pocket-sized FUJIFILM XQ1 is the smallest X Series camera to be released, yet it still packs an impressive punch when it comes to performance and image quality.
Elegantly designed with a stylish finish, the FUJIFILM XQ1 is an ultra-small advanced camera at just 100mm (w) x 58.5mm (h) x 33.3mm (d) that is equipped with the same 2/3-inch X-Trans CMOS II sensor and EXR Processor II as the highly acclaimed FUJIFILM X20.
Available in Black or Silver, the FUJIFILM XQ1 also incorporates the world’s fastest AF speed of 0.06 seconds¹.
Large 2/3-inch X-Trans CMOS II sensor
The 12 million pixel 2/3-inch X-Trans CMOS II sensor controls moiré and false colour generation while the speedy EXR Processor II controls noise and image clarity so that greens, blues and skin tones can be beautifully reproduced.
Sensitivity ranges from ISO100 to ISO12800 enable the capture of natural and clear images, even in low light.
Newly developed F1.8 4x zoom
The newly developed F1.8 – F4.9 4x optical zoom (25-100mm in 35mm format), is constructed with four aspherical and three extra low dispersion lenses. The lens surfaces are covered in a Fujinon original HT-EBC coating to reduce flare and ghosting. The bright F1.8 aperture gives a natural bokeh background effect to contrast with the main subject.
Lens Modulation Optimiser
The Lens Modulation Optimiser (LMO) corrects slight blurring and diffractions caused when the lens aperture is narrowed. This maximises the resolving power of the lens for edge-to-edge image clarity.
Fast and responsive focus
To capture those fleeting moments, the FUJIFILM XQ1 has a quick start-up time and responsive focus. It also boasts the world’s fastest AF speed of 0.06 seconds¹, a shooting interval of 0.3 seconds (in high performance mode) and a shutter lag of just 0.015 seconds.
Advanced settings
Focus Peak Highlight, which highlights the outline in high contrast areas during focusing, helps achieve critically sharp shots when using manual focus.
Rather than having to go into the menu, Advanced Filters, high level manual focusing, aperture and shutter speed settings can all be changed by turning the aluminium control ring fitted around the lens. The photographer’s own preferred functions can also easily be accessed by using the expansion function (E-Fn) button on the back of the camera.
Wireless image transfer
Images from the FUJIFILM XQ1 can be easily transferred wirelessly to a smartphone or smart tablet after installing the free FUJIFILM Camera Application app. Simply press the WiFi button on the camera and then add the images to a blog, or share them with friends on a social networking site. Photographers can also set the FUJIFILM XQ1 to read its location from smartphones and tablets, enabling them to keep tags on where photos were captured.
3.0-inch premium LCD
The 3.0-inch 920k dot premium LCD makes viewing easy, even in bright conditions. It features high contrast, anti-reflective glass and an 85-degree vertical and horizontal viewing angle.
Film Simulation Modes
The FUJIFILM XQ1 offers five shooting modes including Velvia for vivid colours, ASTIA for portraits, PROVIA for a natural lifelike look, as well as Sepia and Monochrome.
There are eight advanced filter options for extra creativity, including Toy Camera, Miniature, Dynamic Tone, Pop Colour, Soft Focus, High Key, Low Key and Partial Colour. Multiple exposure imaging can also be achieved by combining two shots in one frame.
In-camera RAW converter
Using the in-camera RAW development function, a RAW image can be converted to JPEG without a computer or additional software.
Other features include full HD movie capture at 60 frames per second and Super Intelligent Flash.
Accessories for the FUJIFILM XQ1 include a Leather case, Waterproof case for depth to
40 metres, and an O Ring Kit.
FUJIFILM Australia Product Manager – Consumer Products, Melissa Butcher, said the XQ1 is a stylish pocket-sized X Series camera that offers first class handling and quality performance.
The recommended retail price for the new FUJIFILM XQ1 is TBC. It will be available for purchase from November 2013.
